The POOR REVIEWS are REAL! : SeaLife Mini II Underwater Shock & Waterproof Digital Camera
I actually had absolutely no problems with this camera. It sounds like the other person got a lemon.
There were a few times I could not see the screen properly underwater (so I was literally pointing and shooting) but otherwise this thing is as sturdy as a tank. It does sink, so getting a floatation device is a must; at the very least some bright neon tape would be helpful. (I almost lost it in a reef and my dive instructor had to go looking for it). This is not a super high quality camera, but it will allow you to bring home memories from your vacation.
Because of how rugged this thing was, I was never afraid of breaking it. I simply rinsed it after every dive and made sure it was completely dry before transferrinng any images.
The fish and turtle images are two that I took with this camera!
